bulletHow to Make a Book Report: Grades 6-8 contains ideas for written book reports, oral book reports, a cooperative book report, and projects.  One project involves creating a web site. It also contains several teacher tips and reproducible forms.

bullet Twenty-five writers of upper elementary and middle school books are profiled in Meet the Authors. Each profile contains a black and white photograph of the author, birthday, current hometown, selected titles, and background information. Also included are a spotlight on one of the author's books, words from the author, and a writing activity designed by the author. This source can be used to introduce students to a particular author, let students see what professional writers have to say about writing, and to guide students toward good literature.
bulletMeet the Authors and Illustrators: Volume 1 (Grades K-6) is similar to the one above.  It contains profiles of 60 favorite authors and illustrators.
bullet If you have your own ideas for novel study units, Creating Quality Literature Units will help you.  It guides you through basic unit organization, introductory activities, writing questions, creating activities, and developing projects.  It also contains sample lessons and student work samples.
